What salary would you approve of?
Many citizens have told us that they support Lubbock’s Mayor and City Council member positions being paid a living wage, which they currently are not.
Many also believe that these positions being paid a living wage would make it possible for more people to run for offices.
As such, Lubbock Compact has been advocating for the city’s charter to be updated for this reason and the process is underway now.
The decision of what the Mayor and City Council members are paid is completely up to the citizens of Lubbock and it would be on the ballot in an election.
